Developed as a smaller compact version of Khyam´s infamous Igoo the Highlander first came to market in 1992, and with decades of updates and improvements is now one of the most tried and tested tents available today. Product Details

The Highlander is a 2-man touring tent with usable space on both sides of the inner sleeping compartment, plus a front porch for backpacks and travel gear. Two sewn-in side pockets store smaller personal items. Large fully opening front entry provides easy access to the breathable polyester inner, which uses a robust, trayed Weatherweave sewn-in groundsheet to keep out
insects. Both inner doors feature double-zipped mesh venting for increased airflow in humid conditions.

The inner tent is 180 cm wide: significantly wider than many 2-man touring tents that squeeze two people in with little space and no room for equipment. Combined with a 130 cm height, the Highlander offers notably comfortable sleeping for touring.

A robust 70D Weatherweave polyester flysheet with 3000 mm
waterproof rating includes flame-retardant and UV coatings, and fully taped seams for added protection in adverse weather to keep you dry and safe. Wind-activated rain cowls prevent water ingress through the flysheet´s venting system while maintaining essential airflow through the tent.

Like all Khyam Quick Erect structures, the Highlander uses our patented Quick Erect Frame System: all poles remain sewn into the flysheet and click into place in seconds.

The tried-and-tested Rapidex Frame System is backed by a genuine lifetime guarantee. After 40+ years refining the system using solid fibreglass poles and robust nylon-moulded joints we can offer this warranty on our Rapidex frames. The frame is like the body´s bones, providing stability and strength; however, poles are not unbreakable and extreme weather or misuse can occasionally cause damage. In-field replacement may sometimes be necessary, so we recommend carrying spare pole(s) for emergencies when we cannot assist; these can be replaced free of charge by us later at a more convenient time.
